Hi,

Would be grateful for some experienced reviews, i am planning to build a garden room on a sloped part of my garden, and so looking to build it on a timber base.

I wanted to run the plan by someone to make sure i am not over/under engineering this (please find attached current plan, and a picture of the rotting deck area it will replace)

I am planning on using c16 or c24 treated timber, 47x150

Seems excessive amount of timber for such a small structure. Unless you’ve got deep pockets.

Thanks, thats what i was worried about, as deep as the average bloke :)

But was not sure of the spacing needed between the joists and how many beams given a garden office would sit ontop.

Does the attached seem more reasonable

aim for joists to floor materals [400/600mm] sizes
500 is not conducive to sheet materials
every join is on a timber

I would use blockwork to support timber, posts will rot too quickly . You don’t want any timber in contact with ground .
