I recently had to replace the internal battery and also had the power supply fail. The upshot is that the panel has lost its config. I have set up wired zones 1-5 and wireless zones 6 & 7. Now when I open the cloud app there are no detectors displayed as there were before, any ideas why? Have I missed something in setting up the zones?

how did you lose the config, replacing a battery and a psu shouldn’t delete the panels profile.

That aside looks like you defaulted and reset up the panel?

When you first setup the app it reads the panel and does so when you add devices.

Does the panel work normally other than the app?

So what happened was I armed the system and left the house via the usual entry/exit route, a few seconds later the siren went off. I disarmed and tried again with the same thing happening. I checked event history in the app it showed system battery low. Tested the battery and it was down to 10v. With the battery disconnected the keypad rebooted then went blank and the back-light just flashed on/off. I got a new battery and swapped it over but made no difference, I had the main supply off and after switching back on the panel and keypad were off. This is when I tested the psu and found that to be dead also. I've had the entire system off for about 5 days whilst getting a replacement psu and now back on it seems to have lost all its config. All the passwords are the same as before and it still connects to the internet/cloud app but isn't showing any detectors now I've set them back up via the installer menu on the keypad.

Have to say I have never come across this before, however.

In the app does it say the panel is on or offline?
Can you see the panels connection on the router.
when you login to the Risco web portal for the cloud what does it say?

The app shows the panel as being online. It's the same when I log in to risco cloud on the web.

I might try a default and see if that changed anything.

Do i need to configure wired zones anywhere other than in the zones menu?

That doesn’t make sense.
why default the unit? Defaulting will remove anything you do have?

once the alarm is working manually then look at the app.

would need to see your programming to see if anything is missing, but all this is in the manuals, you have access to these?

My thinking was that something has obvioulsy occurred to cause the config loss. There are two unknown wireless devices assigned to Zone 4 & 29 which will not delete because there is no communication. It seems like corruption.

Defaulting the unit at least gives me a blank page to start from.

Yes I've got the installer manual.

I've tried calling all the installers in my area and not one answered or returned my voice mails so for now I'm trying to sort it myself.

There are a few issues.

1. the unit itself has the wrong information in it
2. the coms to the app dont appear correct.
3. the unit does not respond properly to some commands (delete)

I strongly suspect that the board (brains is damaged).

Who do you have the app through?

As I have never heard of this I have spoken with Risco as spoken to one of the few there that I highly respect.
It would need deeper investigation, without certain information I wouldn't be able to attempt a login remotely and have a look or use the and I dont think it be cost effective at less than £100 inc VAT for a replacement PCB, it would also be easier to inspect the board if it was in front of me.

Are you using their programming software?
Be interested to know how you get on, good luck.

The app is just the standard annual subscription Risco App downloaded through App Store or Google Play etc.

I'm not using the CS software as I'm not a registered installer and don't have access to it.

if the unit has been defaulted (loss of config) some of the connection credentials may have been lost/ will be lost.

It is possible when it was set up it used the default passwords, all my panels didn't and I haven't commissioned a new Risco cloud panel in a fair while.

See how you get on, where are you based?

In theory you should be able to clear out the old data with a default and reset it all up. Just the situation isnt something I am aware of.

That's what I was hoping.

I'm in Sheffield.

Thanks for your help.

your over a an hour from me but have you tried Doncaster alarms, I know they do several systems and mainly Pyronix and Texecom rather than Risco but I know they have done others over the years. thought someone on here does Sheffield but not sure if they do Risco but could be thinking of a different site.

Managed to default the system today, with mixed results. Unknown wireless zones 4 & 29 still present and won't delete. Successfully configured all other zones and confirmed to be functioning via walk test. No system faults reported. However unable to arm group A, just get a beep every time without and no indication as to why in the event logs. Group B & C set and function perfectly. I assigned my usual group A zones to group D as a test and again functions fine, so seems to be a problem with zone A.

As it stands the system is back to working how it was, I can live with no group A.

The app is now reporting that the panel is not connected. I've checked the IP settings and confirmed connection with a network scanner and ping. Would Risco need to do something at their end?

I've got a valid subscription, app was working before I defaulted.
