Hello,
we have an existing overgrown rock garden at the front of our property. It's a small steep sloped garden with some large rocks in and weeds coming through everywhere between the rocks and evergreen bushes.
Our thoughts were to:
- uproot the weeds and anything else we didn't want
- cut back the evergreens
- lay an anti-weed membrane over the clear soil (between the bushes and rocks)
- put gravel/slate over the membrane
- cut holes in the membrane and fold back if/where we wanted to plant flowers/shrubs
- probably plant a low box hedge round the external perimeter of the garden
However, I fear that the gravel/slate will just slide off the membrane in places where it is too steep. How do we stop this happening? Glue the base layer of gravel in place?!?
And any pointers/feedback on our planned course of action are welcome.
Many thanks in advance.
