OK so I think my roof has been botched. My roof valley is made of plastic and is totally exposed on the underside, fully visible in loft space. No felt or membrane under it. The exposed plastic is prone to bad condensation which then contacts the woodwork and soaks in -- a worry for weakened structure and rot.

First of all is this something I should consider an urgent/emergency situation that needs attention, or will the wooden structure hold fast despite a bit of soakage?

Secondly how can I best deal with it? Aside from the usual ventilation and insulation measures, I'm planning to cover the underside of the valley with superfoil wrap, to protect it against warmer air. Tried this on one section and yes it helped a bit.

Really I just want to read anyone else's experience with similar situation. I can't surely be the only person to have this!
