Noticed one side of an internal door steel lever rose handle fitment to the door coming slightly loose, after undoing the circular piece I can see whoever fixed it to the door didn't fit all the required screws on one particular side, the two flat headed screws are in, but there are also three smaller screws that have not been put in place, and this is the reason why it's not tight to the door.

I don't want to start tampering and loosening the other side to take any screws out, any idea the type of screws these smaller ones are? Of course once the rose fitment is tightened up again the screws are all hidden.

Usually special screws with a reduced head.

The only screws you might be able to get are piano hinge screws.

You might find the screw is missing because it hit the tubular latch or went into a hollow part of the door.

It's a common problem with lever on rose.

The same doors in the house have the same fitment setup and they aren't loose like this one. I attach a picture. There are 2 main larger screws which don't really tighten hence the looseness whereas the other 3 smaller ones are missing which I believe to be the problem along with the main two not tightening of course.

The screws fitted should be double ended, if they aren’t tightened they have been left too long and need shortening.

So what needs to be done?

The large 2 flathead screws don't tighten and the three crosshead screws are missing at one side.

Assuming you are trying to tighten with two screwdrivers , one to hold one side while you tighten? If it can’t be tightened then remove double ended screw and cut down 5mm and refit .
