I've just checked on Parkers...

A 2004 MG ZT V8, £33000 new, now about £16000 from a dealer.

Highly reliable engine, spares available easily from any yank parts specialist or possibly even a Ford parts place.

The only problem is they still only do 15mpg :D

Another problem is that if you bump it there's no body panels available, well I say body panels, this also includes bumpers, mouldings, seat covers, airbags, in fact just about everything.

It's over for rOver, move on....

bought my fiesta from dixon rover, their showroom was full of 54 reg rovers and MGs. Nice cars too. shame. Surely "pattern" body panels will still be available?

Surely there will be all the stock once they clear out the factory?

Anyway, take the 4.6 V8 engine, get one of the many many supercharger packages available and you've got yourself a muscle-saloon/estate with stupid bhp. Great!

It seems 400bhp is very easily attainable and very much driveable and reliable with the ZT V8, and you can go silly and get double that if you don't mind a bit of lumpiness.
