is there a standard safety requirement for the distance between the stove/oven from switch and socket outlets. i worry about the spark/ignition to be made by the power socket outlets and switch. iam using a gas type free standing oven/stove. appreciate if you could give me a link or standard specifications regarding the safe distance. thanks everyone!

The recommended distance in the UK is a minimum of 300mm from the edge of the appliance.
This is a guideline to prevent cables being damaged by heat, but common sense should prevail, so as far as you suitably can!
A socket outlet has also a recommended minimum distance of 150mm (to the centre of the socket outlet) form worktop surface.
