Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Draft Bill

Q: If they are legitimate refugees, why are they not claiming asylum in France, Italy etc.
Zoe Gardner explains it slowly, eloquently and succintly.

She says 86% stop in a safe neighbouring place - wasn't the question, but thanks for the info
France takes 3X more claimants than UK - she says - but she is wrong.*
Then she basically says its because they want to and that the system would fail if we pushed back to her so called "toddler argument" (other source) that who ever touched it last has to deal with it.
The question was, "of the asylum seekers in Calais, why do they not claim in France, italy, Spain or Greece?
As of 2021:

72% of refugees live in countries neighbouring their country of origin

I suspect that Zoe Gardner is fully up to date with her facts. The world has changed a lot in two years.
Zoe Gardner's facts relate to last year, your 'facts' (and those of the posted link) relate to 2021. I suspect that you can differentiate between the two differing references of 'facts'.

*Source UNHCR - In the year ending September 2021, Germany received the highest number of asylum applicants (127,730) in the EU+, followed by France (96,510). When compared with the EU+ for the same period, the UK received the 4th largest number of applicants (44, 190 – including main applicants and dependents).

France has an approval rate of 25%, UK 70% = 24,128 vs 30,933 23% more not 2/3rd less.
If you want to compare your research with Zoe Gardner's I suggest you both agree which year we discussing.

like your lobbyist who can't do sums..
Like you, who chooses a different date-related set of figures to discredit an expert.

Ever heard the expression: "working from the same hymn sheet"?

I suspect your data includes Albanian migrants. Her data set, I suspect, does not.

The first thing you have to do, is find an unbiased impartial source, not a loby

apparently not. France does not accept 3x more Asylum claims than the UK. Do you have an non-bias, independent source that says otherwise?

here's the story in the leftie friendly form
The practices were named in a Daily Mail investigation, which alleged that several individuals working with solicitors firms had been charging thousands of pounds to submit false asylum and human rights claims.

Reporting an article originally printed in the D.Mail - balanced journalism, i'd say; unlike the bigoted piffle you get in the right wang rags.

when you've done the math on 2022s figures. You will see she is still wrong. France does not accept 3X more than the UK.

Think nosey needs some of that 'enriching' to come his way. The land mass of Germany and France is nowhere comparable to Britain's land mass, given we need to build a city the size of Coventry every year to cope with the amount of immigrants arriving, he might have his wish earlier than he envisaged.

Are you having a laugh. did you even read it?

Just another unemployed leftie lobbyist that Noseall fancies.
Of course. Here it is for your perusal.
Do you want to compare yours with hers? (social media anti-asylum seeker campaigns don't count in a CV  )

Which data set are you working from, the 2022 data that Zoe Gardner refered to?
If you watched the clp, you'll see she referred to "last year". By my reckoning that'll be 2022.

Do you need help with the maths?

take the number claiming and multiply by the acceptance rate to get the number granted/accepted.

156,455 France 2022 * .25 = 39,114
81,130 UK 2022 * .70 = 62,391

she is wrong either way you calculate it.

Different argument.
We're discussing the accuracy and veracity of Zoe Gardner's testimony to H of C.
You want to discuss the morality of asylum seekers coming to UK.

Do you need hlep with the English?
Zoe said France receives three times more applications.

You are wrong, and it's your understanding of the English language that has caused the problem.
