Salus Timeguard not controlling boiler

I've recently moved into a new flat. I have a Timeguard NTT04 (timer, not thermostat) plugged into the mains to control our Worcester Greenstar Compact boiler. I've plugged all the timings into the Timeguard and the green light comes on when it's supposed to start the heating but the boiler doesn't turn on.

On our boiler there is a Salus control panel which can be set to off/auto/on. I believe "Auto" (in the middle) is supposed to make it response to the Timeguard, When I switch it to "Auto" it flashes a red light and doesn't respond to the Timeguard at all, or the boost/Adv functions.

Looking online, this seems like a synchronisation issue but I can't find any clear instructions on how to synch/reset the connection. I've tried using a paperclip to reset the Salus panel and it looks like it's trying to sync, but when I do the same on the Timeguard it just seems to reset the timer programs and not do anything else.

Any ideas? Photos of both are included on this post. Thanks in advance for any help.

Not a plumber so may seem a silly question. Do your radiators have thermostatic valves fitted? Possible they may need adjusting?

Seems to be a wireless stat issue. There’s no temp control otherwise, but the Salus is a receiver.

Thanks for the quick replies. In that case I'm not sure what the Timeguard is supposed to talk to - the boiler or the thermostat? If it's the boiler then I would expect it to still turn the boiler on regardless of the thermostat (maybe I'm wrong), but if it's the thermostat it talks to then that makes more sense...

I'm going to continue testing it today to see if I can get it to work when the Salus is set to "On" just with the timer. There's no thermostat - only the heating and water temp controls on the front of the boiler

Is there no temp control then?
nope Salus are total rubbish the thermostat that was there has been lost or it failed and someone has wired in a cheap timeswitch, but as the receiver is still fitted it is looking for a signal from the thermostat, so it has to be set to always on (manual over ride)

Ahh, makes more sense (sort of ).

Nothing's easy is it! Thanks very much for all your input. Sounds like I need to get a thermostat then to complete the set and hopefully it'll all start working as expected.

it should work if you just set the receiver in the boiler to constantly on, if you buy a new thermostat there is no guarentee that it will pair with the existing receiver, you may have to buy bothe and get a gas safe engineer to install it as it means removing the combustion cover on the boiler
