Hi,

Cant see a section for mobile phones so will try here.

I cant load pictures to my home and work computer using the USB lead supplied with phone.
Computer requests disc which you dont get.
Do I need to download some softwear to my phone to get this to work.
My mate used the lead and pluged his galaxy s3 in to the computer and it worked straight away.

At present I have to send pics by e/mail to my computer. :x

I think you may have to go to the Samsung site and download the "Kies" software.
It will be in the Support/Downloads section, you'll need to search for the software/drivers specific to your phone and computer operating system.

Check out "Kies Air" which lets you connect without the cable, via Wi-Fi.
I think it comes as part of the download.
Uses the browser software in the computer to connect to the phone.

(assuming its similar to the galaxy S2 ?)

Yes you need 'Kies' also worth getting a file browsing app to help find files .

Thanks for reply,

I can send my pictures by e/mail To the computer.
Suppose kies will do much the same.

Dont see the point of supplying USB lead with phone if it dont work on the Galaxy S2. It works on the Galaxy S3.

Just a wee update for info.

Have just plugged the Galaxy S2 to a computer running Windows 7.

Phone connects and drivers are loaded by the operating system which allows the phone to be seen as a "portable media player".
You can then navigate through the device using the windows explorer software. The Kies software is not required.
Photos can be transferred using the "normal" windows methods, ie drag+drop

Windows XP seems to requires software/drives to be able to connect with the phone.

Have not tried any other operating system so don't know which ones have the required drivers.

Ok HH1.

Good to know
Will speak to our it expert next time hes in.
