I recently noticed that my freezer temperature was way too high, with ice melting. I powered the machine down, restarted it and set it on power freeze for the freezer and power cool for the fridge side. Both came to their correct temperatures after a reasonable time.
However in a day or so, both temperatures were too high. Reset it again and this time it appeared to work correctly for two or three days, then the same thing.
I then turned it off, and let it come to room temperature. I then, more by luck,than judgement managed to remove the back panels inside the freezer, where I could see the evaporator, the fan and three sensors, which I assumed to be temperature sensors with different functions. I metered all three and they all showed resistance in a range that I guessed was probably normal. (No zero ohms and no meg-ohms.)
I don't think anything had become iced up because there was no water on the floor or inside the machine when I let it come to room temperature. The fridge and freezer were emptied before that.
Then I did what I have been doing with connectors for at least the last 50 years I slightly twisted the flat pins so that they might make better contact with their mating parts. Having powered the machine on it appears to be working normally and heading towards it's target temperatures.
But a lifetime's experience tells me that faults that go away without of their own accord always eventually come back.
So if anyone out there is familiar with this machine, I would be grateful for any advice they can offer. I should have said the condenser coils are clean and there is no obvious issue in that area.
