I have a TalkTalk router, and an HTC phone which gets 54 Mbps wi-fi when near it. However, my new Samsung Tab 4 has 'signal strength - weak' and only 1 Mbps wi-fi when near the router. Is there some way of improving this? The 'Manual' on screen of the Tab 4 does not seem to have any info. on this. Any help much appreciated, thank-you.

I suspect that the wireless chip in your tablet is faulty.

How's the Bluetooth?

Have you tried changing the wireless advanced settings like turning the frequency from Auto to 2.4?

Jaysta, thank-you for your reply and advice.
The Bluetooth works fine.
I cannot find the settings in 'Advanced Settings' on the device to change from Auto to 2.4.
I think I may visit my local PC/Tablet repair shop later this week, they may be able to show me how.

In the end, I shut the device down - long press on the button, left it for a while, then re-start. It had not been shut-down since I bought it 5 months ago. The wi-fi now seems to be working OK again.
