Generally, each year we have a real xmas tree trimmed to about 7 ft.
When it is time to get rid, use secateurs to lop and cut up branches into bag for tip.
The branch stubs can be surformed, blending to the trunk, which can be trimmed to length .... Remarkable resemblance and feel to a baseball bat ....

But a lot longer and a bit more flexible.....

Wonder if a sawn off xmas tree is as powerful as a sawn off shotgun?

Yep, about 5ft useful length to play with.

A little more legal and versatile than SOSG.

After all, tis only a partial Christmas tree, has been used as such, then stripped for dumping .. whereas a baseball bat, if one does not play baseball, is a bit iffy. ... an SOSG .. forget it !

I'll hang on to my 3x2 with a 6" nail through the end for now

If one does not blend the branch 'stubs' .... then one has an even more likely 'innocent' remnant of Xmas .... maybe a little more effective too !

A trimmed example of the 'tapometer' beside a water tap.
Can play xmas baseball using those neat, coloured decorative xmas tree balls.

Baseball bats are made of hickory, boring I know, but I'm tired.

I just had a thought:

Perhaps this is where the term "hick" comes from... rednecks in the US are referred to as hicks, perhaps this comes from them living predominantly in areas where hickory trees grow?
