I have to attach a curtain rod bracket to a plasterboard wall. Below is a photo of the bracket. I was going to use plasterboard fixings like these, but then realised that the points for the screws were too close and the fixings would overlap.

I noticed that another person has had a very similar problem and he ended up using Fischer Universal plugs.
Do you think his suggestion of universal plugs is good? Are there any other options I should consider where I have screws very close together? (I do not want to fix to a batten.)
