Hi folks,
Advice very welcome - I have a heavy mirror that I need to install on my living room chimney breast.

1950's/60's build so assuming plaster on brick? I think...?

The mirror is round, 100cm in diameter, is about 20kg and has 2 x sawtooth bracket to hang on screws.

See the pics attached - the chimney breast, one of the sawtooth brackets and a good looking man taking a photo of the mirror

Coming to the end of the full house project where I have been slowly learning my DIY skills

So what I need to know before I begin drilling...
- Will it be plaster on brick like I think?
- What screws/plugs should I use?
- Is there a risk of pulling down the plaster?

Thanks in advance
Barry

If you knock the wall and feels solid (most likely) drill 8mm holes 3 inches deep.
Use my favourite plugs Fischer duopower and 3 inch screws.
Nothing will pull that off.
If you're worried about going through the chimney (impossible really if you're careful), use 2 inches screws, but the grip will not be to full potential.

No, screws are too long.
At 3 inches they comply with manufacturer spec and protrude half inch.
Also those are concrete screws, you need simply twin or single thread screws.
