Securing loose breeze blocks

Hi. I was removing the window board prior to getting lounge skimmed and the wall beneath the board came loose. It was nailed to the breeze block and took a bit or force to remove hence the issue. Do people think just mixing some mortar to put in the voids at the top and any gaps will be enough to secure it or do you think I should actually completely remove a couple of the blocks, clean off and then reposition with fresh mortar (ie building sand and cement mix). definitely best practise to fully remove and re-bed on with cement. but gobbing up the tops like you suggest would work for a while if undisturbed. you could also fasten some galvanised roll strapping across to the secure to the blocks either side to add a bit of strength if you felt it needed it. this would protrude and may affect your wall finish if direct plastering. or if your dotting and dabbing just put loads of gobbo adhesive around the lose block and that stuff will set everything rock solid to the boards
