Self build concrete blocks

I want to build my own home in the sun myself. I would prefer to make my own concrete blocks in the process. Does anyone have any idea about what design mix to use or precautions to take?

polystyrene forms and re-bar, then get a concrete company to bring you a couple of truck loads of readymix..
