Setting up TP Link router to act as an extender

Could anyone help me set this router up please. I believe I've followed the instructions in the kit to the letter but I keep going round in circles with no success.

Can anyone give me a step by step guide as the instructions provided seem illogical.

Thanks but that just took me to a Google search and I've tried that but the set up is so complicated and I've hit so many problems I can't complete the process.

There's also a lot on Google about how difficult these TP Link routers are to set up!
 
does the youtube video which is the 2nd google link from your question help?

Now you may say you have a different model.
In reply to that - how should we know you didnt say what model you have ?

explain more about what you have done, what your results are etc.
 
I'm very sorry but I'm really not clued up on this sort of thing which is why I thought I'd ask for some help on the forum.

The router is a TP Link TL-WA 801ND, there is a plethora of other information on the base of the router if you need this I can let you know.

Yep, tried following the youtube video to the letter and no good.

Thanks but I'm sure I'll get it sorted somehow even if I bin the router and get a different one.
