Salvaged a 43" Sharp Aquos TV which powers up and works perfect via the buttons on the back.
Bought a genuine Sharp Aquos Remote but can't get it to recognise TV.
Tried brand new batteries, holding any combination of coloured buttons to "pair" with TV. Spent an hour trying.
Any other ideas please?
Thanks

A first basic step, have you seen this information from Sharp?

What is the model number of the TV (on rear panel usually).

You can check if the remote is emitting IR signals via many phone cameras, as it might be DOA?

Do you have any 'universal' remotes to try the alternatives Sharp code sets? e.g. my ancient Foxsat-HDR universal remote lists 0036, 0653, 1193, 0093, 0193, 0200, 0491, 0516, 0818, 1393, 1586, 1659, 1819, 0787, 1459 for Sharp TVs from 10 years ago.

It could be the Infra Red receiver in the TV is faulty? Some modern TVs may use RF (e.g. bluetooth) to control things rather than IR? https://www.umc-uk.co.uk/Information/Sharp-Television_information_SkyCodes2134.html

lc-43cfe6131k is model number
https://business.currys.co.uk/catal...31k-aquos-613x-43-led-backlit-lcd-tv/P222744P has specs and manual.

EDITED... It is definitely a set made by UMC and the link I gave to UMC states your model is a RF-only remote control!! If it is emitting infra red it's the wrong one?

This 'compatible/replacement' remote on Amazon has a way of getting the TV into pairing mode you might try? https://www.amazon.co.uk/ALLIMITY-L...31K-LC-49CFE6031K-LC-32CFE6351K/dp/B0899L3B5W

Where did you get the remote from? (Link?)
