Shifting a pallet of tiles from A to B...

I went and bought a pallet of tiles on ebay before figuring out how I was going to collect them.... I thought it would be simple to arrange a collection and delivery.... But... It seems the pallet delivery companies expect you to have your own lifting gear at both ends.....

Anyone got any ideas on how to shift em?
It's one pallet, about 1000 terracotta tiles, 900kg, gotta move from kidderminster to mid devon.

Manpower or have the means to hire a forklift at both ends.
 
Better get crackin' with a chain gang if y'all don't got a pallet truck. :LOL:
 
Are those sites where you post the transport job you need doing and various operators give you quotes any good? As long as you stipulate vehicle must have lifting gear? May need lorry with grab? Or, if you have the time maybe hire a vehicle yourself and handball them at collection and delivery?

Hope they were a real bargain - I fear any savings may evaporate.

We did a direct load from Marley roof tiles once. Forklifts every where. Even kindly dropped the tiles off at the back of the van.
'...are you going to lift them in please duck' I asked.
'...no can do, not in an enclosed van.'
 
You need to be looking for a company with a tail lift, plenty about

Pallet delivery companies often have a tail lift and they keep a pallet truck on board
 
I’ve used Palletways before. Not terribly expensive- they have their own pallet trolley
 
Palletways say maximum pallet weight can only be 750kg - this is 900kg....

A to B is about 130 miles
