Shower tray edge gap advice

Hi Guys,

Just looking for some advice on fitting new shower tray. One wall is plastered, the other tileboard on studs. The tray edges are slightly tapered towards the bottom meaning the top is slightly away from the wall. I have cut away the plaster and board to allow the tray to sit somewhat closer near the floor. Plastered wall is fairly straight, but the thickness varies because of the brickwork.

I was also planning to use a Mira T shaped sealing strip around the tray edge. Should I trim away further or will the strip and tiles take up the difference... I'm probably overthinking this, but just want to get it right. (images attached) Thanks!

Gap looks spot on. Tiles and adhesive will easily overhang the gap. Then a nice thin bead of silicone - you shouldn’t even need to flood an gap first.

Seconded, the gap looks good - just tile and silicone.

You want to seal all the way around the tray.

Lift the tray, silicone all the way around the outside edge on the sides and the outside edge underneath so when you sit the tray back down the silicone squeezes and fills the whole gap between the wall and tray giving a you a full waterproof seal all the way around the outside edge. Run your finger around the top edge sealing the whole thing in and clean off any excess. If you then want to use a tile strip too then it goes in when the silicone is still soft though it's not really needed.

Make sure the tiles are fitted properly with horizonatally comb'd/flexible waterproof adhesive and grout.
