Currently have an extended 3 bed semi, and the front door is on the side of the house.

Just had planning approved to have a single story side extension. as such the main entrance will be at the front. I've tried mocking this up quickly in paint, but realised very quicky - I've never seen this before. Anyone got an idea oh how to execute this? Doesn't appear to have any kerb appeal or anything. Obvious solution is move front door to the middle, but that is huge internal work we can't undertake.

There are three styles of house on our estate. The majority have front doors on the side. Some have had extensions where the front door has been relocated onto the front. No problem.

Looks like a tacked on garage conversion

You need to highlight that's it's the front entrance, and try and replicate the main house theme.

Thanks. Spent several hours speaking to people and only seen a photo of one in existence.

I wonder if a thin long canopy would detract the attention a little.

Yes a canopy across the front or part front may help in better visually connecting the house and the extension

Spoke to the builder who suggested just to build an offset porch that digises it. Half on existing house half on extension. Front door with slim window panel wpuld help offset slightly.

Its a shame the roof angle couldn't be the same on the porch as the existing on this one.
I think the door being the same colour as the windows helps though.
