Skelmersdale vs surroundings like Warrington - house prices

Hi,

I hope I can post here.
I don't live in the area of Skelmersdale, but I do wonder why house prices are much better compared to Warrington for example, same for the surroundings.
It seems that houses are quite bigger in the range of 250k or less, but also better equipped, larger gardens sometimes etc...
Is it about Airplanes? I don't see major airports nearby.
Crime rate seems very fair.
Nuclear plants or coal powered plants?

I can't personally visit the area any time soon, and in any case it wouldn't be enough to get an idea.
I wouldn't live the surroundings in my daily life, so I wouldn't care if there is no big shopping center etc, I can always head down to Liverpool, or just outside, very close there is some shopping centre, not a concern.

Never been there but is one regarded as a better area than the other and so attracts people who can pay more. That said there will be areas within warrington like any large urban area that have different house prices for the same reason.
