slider pin removal

Hello all,

Encountered a restricted access issue that I've not come across before with the rear caliper slider pins on our Civic and wondering if anyone can advise the best tool to undo it. The brake fluid pipe is rather inconveniently positioned with very little flex. The bolt itself requires a 7mm hex socket. Trouble is, getting a ratchet on the socket is impossible- as per photo. Even a low profile one I suspect I am going to struggle.

Any tips?

Have you checked youtube videos?

Your photo shows you are trying to use a hex bit. You can use hex bit with a spanner.
 
ah yes that is a good idea with the spanner. I will try that. I couldn't find any youtube videos.
 
Maybe a long series allen socket (Laser Tools) would pass under the brake flexy pipe?
Whatever you do, please don't round it off!

If the flexy pipe end has a banjo fitting - and it looks like it - have no fear on removing it. You won't get a deluge of brake fluid, just a slow drip.

Thanks all- gives me some ideas. I thought I might struggle to get sufficient leverage on an allen key but the long ones might work.
