Purchased a Samsung tv. Turns out there's a non removable advert on the app bar.

Annoyed. Am returning it (the tizen OS is also sluggish).

Samsung forums have long threads about the non removable adverts and sluggish OS (sluggish on the model I have)

Do all new Smart tellies have adverts? Am thinking an LG now, but with shops shut I cannot view any.

Can’t say I’ve seen any on my Panasonic and I bought one for my mum a month or so ago and can’t remember seeing any on that when I set it up.

Not going mad. Here's an example of Samsung users moaning. They enabled it in 2018

Does anybody know how to turn off really annoying ads popping up on menu bar of tv. I didn't pay nearly £2500 to be bombarded with this rubbish. I have a QLED Q8. Any help would be gratefully received as this is driving me to distraction.

I had a live chat with LG who confirmed they wouldn't be "so stupid" as to do that.

So I got an LG, and, arranged a full refund for the Samsung.

What a stupid move of Samsung

I bought my wife a kindle a few years ago. That has an advert pop up when you first turn it on. Annoying but she just has to delete it to get past it but more annoying is that if you want to not see the adverts, you have to pay a tenner to Amazon to switch it off.

Add is displayed on mine on power up but goes once password is entered.

No, not in demo mode, or, those ads.
This is an add, sitting like an icon, next to netflix, iplayer etc.
Samsung have confirmed you cannot disable it.
