Here we go again

Have downloaded some smilies that apparently not being able to be viewed by people I have sent them to.
I am using Outlook Express, and I have tried sending them to myself which do work but others have told me they do not receive.
MMJ has told me to uncheck a box in the tools, options, send tab, that allows rich plain text.
Kevplumb seems to think it is firewalls that is causing the problem.
Any ideas.

Perhaps they have sensibly set via Tools,Options,Read .. to read all messages in plain text.

Also check what happens given :- Tools,Options,Send ..Reply to messages using the format in which they were sent.

Play with the settings, send to yourself, do a bit of spadework !

It completely depends on the recipients email client (it also depends on what email servers your mail goes through, which is not controllable by you). Smileys are not part of any email "standard". Remember that email was devised in the '60's and is plain text only by default.

You and your smileys, eh .... be the death of me.
