I have an old car battery charger that has become unreliable. The instructions say that towards the end of the charging period it wil automatically switch on and off. It now tends to switch itself off, but not on unless given light percussive maintenance.
Inside, I find a button-shape component, plastic encapsulated, in series in the live output wire.
It appears to have a disc that pops convex inside, to break contact when warm, and (should) spring back when cold.
What is it called, and can I get a replacement?
