Hi.......my spell checker seems to have stopped working....any remedies please

Well whenever I used to place a post , as I typed if I made an error it highlighted immediately in red, now nothing happens as I type but if I press the 'spell check' link another window opens and it checks words in there.
I just really liked it the other way, it was so much easier.....I wondered why it had changed.

Thank you for the reply, I use Firefox ...and I did have my suspicions it may be something to do with that....I have had a mess around with it but can't seem to find anything to change.

It may be you need to add a dictionary that has somehow got lost between updates:

Also worth checking that it is still enabled (from that page above):
On the menu bar, click on the Firefox menu and select Preferences....
Select the Advanced panel.
Click the General tab.
Ensure 'Check my spelling as I type' is ticked.
