Spray Expanding foam question

Hi,

Yesterday i was undertaking some DIY and filling some gaps with expanding foam. However me being silly i didn't wear a mask! Now i am worried after reading some of the dangers of breathing in expanding foam.

Can anyone shed some light on if im doomed by breathing this stuff in, one time exposure? Slightly worried now!
 
Should have gone to a hairdressers; now you can see why A&E is overstretched.

You're going to be fine Jitno, the Nox in diesel fumes, and the plastic in your food will do you quicker.
 
I recently used a few canisters without mask, and still am alive. I think. i did notice that some are much smellier than others. the Pink Grip Dry Fix foam was pleasant to use, whereas the stuff I got from B&Q (I think No Nonsense Champagne Expanding Foam) in the little canisters that don't need a gun smelt awful and was harder to use.

I have been using MDF for well over 35 years now, yet I still haven't died. Should I be worried?

I feel an open forum may not be the best place to discuss the ways you've been "using" MDF, but I'd be happy to give you more personal advice if you wish to PM me, but I'm sure I can allay most (well amost) of your fears and concerns.

Yer, but it's far more likely to be asbestos or Newcastle Brown which delivers the blow.....
 
Maybe, but she doesn't carry a COSHH notice - the spray foam should (or at the very least it should be on line). The moral is that if you are concerned about the toxicity of anything you are using, look up the COSHH data sheets (COSHH = Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) on the product before you use it
