Few weeks ago I dropped off my sister to Stansted Airport and stopped for less than 30 second at the end of the road which was marked with double yellow line and not sure how called white 45 degree line. it was just for a matter of few second but unlucky I notice an highviz car running on the road and they may have dashcam my plate. To me seems very unfair and money maker but not sure on what ground I can appeal.

Is there anyone who has had same experience and can share some tips

Thanks

Like it or loathe it, trying to avoid the drop off charge can be more expensive as you have found out...

You could have used the free 1 hour mid stay parking area and bus shuttle.

Unfortunately all main UK airports have now added the drop off charge. LHR being the last.

I suspect that if you even drive into the airport and do not trigger a camera at the drop off point they will still find a way to charge you.

The signage at most airports does not help either.

If there is any way round the drop off charge, as Ellal suggests, they do not publicise it.

Somehow it seems to go against my British instincts.

Kin hate money grabbing barstewards especially when it comes to parking. I'd challenge the lot of them in court every time.

If everyone did that, they'd soon moderate their greedy behaviour. But like all MGBs, they use threats to get people to pay and, for a variety of reasons, they pay up to get them off their back.

I know but it was less than 30 second and had to rush to work. Mo point to get in out the free space for very short period of time. Pretty unfair to me

Indeed it is unfair, but that is how it goes in UK PLC...

I get p*ssed off about having to have a £1 coin to use a trolley...

Bad enough if you forget to have one to hand on the way out, but for foreigners arriving what does it say about 'welcome to the UK'! (n)

Pretty sure you need a Euro coin in German airports, it has never put me off visiting.

Most of their airports are still resisting, but then most visitors to Germany have a Euro coin to hand anyway...

How many foreign visitors to the UK have a £1 coin to hand?

Where do you get your figures from?

I thought most trolleys would take either an euro or a quid coin?

He has a special place called "thin air".
Funnily enough most visitors to Germany come from France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Netherlands...

Care to tell us which currencies these countries use?

Seems you are full of 'hot air'

Austria, Netherlands.... do most people fly to Germany or drive, you omitted USA & Mexico from your list.

if you think the place you -parked didn't have the right marks and signage, you can get pictures from streetmap or google streetview or google earth/maps.

Bear in mind you were "Unloading", not parked. the markings are different.
