Hi all. I just wanted some advice. We currently have a small mouse problem at our house at the moment and they seem to be coming into the room from the holes around the boiler pipe work on the floor. I have used coarse steel wool to plug these holes as I hear it useful to stop mice. What I wanted to know is, is this safe? I know steel wool can ignite with a spark but there are no electrical cables or sources of ignition nearby. I don't think the hot water pipe will heat enough to ignite the steel wool but I just wanted to check.

Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance

stainless wool can be used, they will just chew through normal steel wool or pull it out

suppose so it looks pretty similar to the rodent guards, but really you should be addressing the rodent problem
