Hi everyone!

Newbie here, still getting to grips with DIY! I have an ethernet cable that I need to pass from one side of the room to the other. I read about cable clips and trunking, but there is a balcony door on the side of the room I need to run the cable through. The first picture attached is how the corner where the skirting board joins with the balcony door step (the other side of the door is exactly the same)

I was thinking of running the cable through the gap in skirting board and along the base of the door step which is slightly curved, so the cable fits in nicely (see pictures 2 and 3). I could use cable clips for the skirting board part but I don't know how to "stick" the cable to the door step. What would be the best thing to use here?

Another question I have is what would be the best way to do the junction between the skirting and the step. There are two options (green and blue lines on picture 4), which one would be best?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Just use more cable clips along the door step.

Route blue would be better

You could fit some scotia or 1/4 round trim on the step, some profiles have the back edge missing.

I'll see if I can find some profile that matches, otherwise I'll go clips the whole way. Thanks to both!
