We have bought a stone basin for the bathroom and also bought a standard mushroom unslotted basin waste. The problem that we have is the recess cut out for the waste flange in the basin is large (measuring 70mm diameter) and therefore the waste has a large gap around it.

Easier to see in the pictures below :

I've searched for other basin wastes but they all seem to be fairly standard. Does anyone have any suggestions for an alternate waste with a bigger flange (70mm is the recess diameter)?

Thanks in advance,

Daz

You will get ones with larger tops but the flanges are all usually around the 60-65mm range to fit standard waste ceramic/resin basins. You may just need to fill the gap with dark grey silicone and use a former to make it nice and level with the flange.

Largest I found is this one around 63ish mm

Thanks for the suggestion. Not sure the silicon option will look very good but did consider that myself too. When you say use a former, have you a link to what you mean?

Have you asked the manufacturer what waste they suggest? I'm surprised there wasn't an option to buy one with the basin.
