Strange lighting wiring colours? Replacing fluorescent fixture

Hello all, I’ve had a look over the sticky regarding lighting wiring and I think it doesn’t answer my question.

I’m trying to replace the long fluorescent fixture in the kitchen with an ordinary light fixture (bar/spotlight). The problem is that there’s some bizarre colours (peach, orange and pink) that I’ve not encountered before and can’t seem to find anything about online. How should I proceed with this? Do I just snip the redundant cables away and just use the relevant ones? Which ones should I keep?

I see. On a closer inspection it seems like the pink cable is from the house wiring, and is a live cable. Not sure why they used that colour though, I guess so it doesn’t clash with the fluorescent cabling colour scheme.

Why would you think that; it doesn't even go into the connector block?

Surely the house supply wires are the Brown and Blue and one of the Green&Yellows - which must enter the light from outside.

I think the photo doesn’t represent the colours very well, the pink goes into the terminal, it’s just more of a hot pink and looks almost red on the photo. The peach cable looks pink in the photo. The blue and brown cables are part of the fixture it seems.

I would say the house supply are Red and Black in the installer friendly screw terminals

If you trace the red, black & g/y they will disappear into the ceiling void, the pink will stay in the fitting

Red = live/L, Black = neutral/N, yellow/green = earth/E. Those are the only ones you are interested in, the rest are a part of the fitting and not to any standard.
