Stuck screw

Hi guys

Trying to remove a screw that the previous house owner put in but it won’t budge. Dry wall but it has been drilled into the brick/stone behind. I have tried an electric screwdriver/drill, pliers and it will not budge at all. Also used wd40 on it and still no joy, any ideas?

Mole grips. Or pump pliers. Or an impact driver. More elbow grease.

Tap it with hammer a few times and use screwdriver by hand.

A pair of locking pliers. Close them firmly round the head and turn. Worked for me on a very tight screw.

Very few people know how to apply grease to elbow. For this job, the grease should be applied to the wrist.

A ratcheting wrench with the correct bit.

I find tightening the screw a tad first can help.

Tap it with hammer a few times and use screwdriver by hand.

A tap with a hammer, face on, is fine, if you hit it from the side, you may bend the screw, which makes it a PITA to unscrew it.

Undamaged head like that should respond well to an impact driver..

Hammer to the left , hammer to the right, hammer to the left, hammer to the right, etc etc till it breaks off then fill and make good
