The integral DVD on my laptop has begun to give what can only be described as a stuttering sound and vision replay. Is this a mechanical problem or is it due to dirt? If it is the latter can i buy something that will clean the mechanism/laser the way a tape cleaner does or is it a bit trickier than that?

is it just a certain dvd that gives problems?
Are the dvds clean ?
If it happens to all of them , it could the lense needs cleaned (a quick blow round the lense should do the trick) or your machine is running at 100% due to virus/spyware etc...
