You'd be hard pressed to make one, of any quality, for less than you could buy one at the sheds. Plus if time is pressing you are possibly unlikely to be able to make one of any quality in time, they're not that simple to make.
Failing that just cut a 6ft x 2ft piece of 1" ply and stick a pillow at one end and support on bricks, she'll be dead chuffed with it.
