We have made the decision to up defence spending, trumpets Sunak.

He won't do that, says Sunak.

Is this the same budget that has been continually pared to the bone year in, year out, so that the troops don't have decent and proper equipment to use to do their job properly?

There is only one difference on defence spending. 2,5% A date from one lot and an aspire to subject to the economics from the other.
From March 8th
The official budget documents disclosed on Wednesday show that defence spending in the UK is expected to witness a decrease of £2.5 billion in the financial year ending March 2025 compared to the prior 12 months.

I listened to a lot of Rishi's speach. Much caused me to think oh dear. War frighteners and our actual capabilities was just one reason. Historic aspect concerning Great Britain another. Everyone in high tech jobs? Plan - just what is it? Hes even doing his best to tie Starmer to Corbyn and some incorrect statements about him.

A lot of the defence aspects go back to Trump. US drop out of NATO? They have a lot of clout in it. He even mentioned countries providing their own boots. It seems some countries are going towards national conscription to try and keep costs down but it's still an expensive option. Weapons, well lots would come from the US so boosting the need to buy is good for the US. Some others too.

richie rich sunak has obviously looked at the 2016 referendum and is going for the same tactics...

Spinning the fear factor, spouting total lies, and blaming the mainly home grown problems on the foreigners!

He's clearly hoping to again indoctrinate the dumbed down portion of the electorate to believe it's all sunny uplands in nasty party/brexit land

A key part of Sunaks speech:

"Yes, I know weve been promising growth and prosperity of 14 years and its turned out really really sh1t for 14 years......but please vote for us one more time because things are going to be really really great"

Sunak's best chance of winning the next GE is to say the conservatives will choose a new leader during the term and that Bojo and Cameron will have key roles in his government.

My main grief with them is the Singapore argument that started gaining ground ~1970 and when UK companies were finding it cheaper to manufacture off shore also unable to compete so simply dropped out of various sectors.

Singapore. Low tax and incredible growth. Problem, this isn't Singapore which grew from rather low levels. UK - well we are managing a decline and trying to get work back.

The toreys have had 14 years to sort out defence spending but concentrated more on being influenced by the russsians, BJ included. Starmy's response to Soonak is that he - Starmmer - is concentrating on living standards. Just what our enemies want to hear.

That's no chance at all then.

No.

His conduct and behaviour is on record. That's not opinion, its facts. That's ethics.

You are welcome to ignore that. That's standards.
We all know the record of Hamas and their uncles Iran & Syria. But some on here still support them.

You are welcome to ignore that. That's standards.
