Tried to sell my 150 year old house the new potential buyer had a survey done and picked up a number of issues. Some obvious which are easy fixes
Main problem he wants a damp proof membrane fitted to the suspended wooden floor. Any one have an idea if this is a standard requiremnet or is it not neccesary on a house this old. House has a damp course
 
I think you need to ask the surveyor what he means

suspended timber floors dont have a damp proof membrane -I believe there may be a case for isolating the joist ends from damp brickwork

you wouldnt have a damp proof membrane fitted to the underside of the suspended timber floor -that would lead to trapping moisture
