depends on where the other end of it is plugged into.

i have one on one of mine, when i built the pc i never plugged it in

That depends on whether it is plugged into the correct location, it could be the HDD light too. The way to tell is if it is on all the time, then it is likely power, but if it flashes on and off as the machine works, then it will be HDD.

The Hard drive light should be like an upturned barrel.
