Tactical voting

interesting if you follow polls at all
our area is forecast to be Libdem- first time in 100years since always conservative - BUT the council changed from conservative to independant and now Libdem
seems a lot of talk locally and on local social media , about voting and libdem
Apart from Brighton, Sussex is a traditional solid blue area, so a change to Lib Dem’s would be surprise

I’ve not really seen much of Lib Dems in the media at all, I wouldn’t even be able to say what their main policies are.

I agree fundamental change is unlikely, but lots of people voted for Brexit because they felt it was the first time their voice was heard, tactical voting also gives people power against a rigged system.

There’s a tiny chance that tactical voting + Reform could leave Conservatives as no longer the being the official opposition party

That would be change, a historical break from the 2 party system.
It could lead to a change in our policital system.

And nothing is likely to change for the masses.

I’m not convinced it’s a rigged system.

Only PR would really delivery change - but would it be for the better

It seems unlikely to me, because Farage's company is so far behind.

Their appeal ìs mostly limited to the elderly, discontented and Brexer minorities, even more so than the Tories.

I don't see any party doubling or halving its support in the next four weeks.

Their may be a small number of constituencies where those groups coalesce. Persistent loser Farage has targeted the ripest. Eighth time lucky, he hopes.

Neither of them has the slightest chance with the under-60s, and neither of them has any interest in appealing to young people.

We’re in a post tactical voting world, people are just angry with the mainstream parties, with reform and the greens an alternative vote for many. Not voting at all will be the new tactical voting.

Tiny? Theres absolutely no fùcking chance!
The lib dems aren't that far behind. All Reform have to do is steal enough votes to push their share a bit higher and the Tories a bit lower.

And what will that achieve?
OK not quite tactical voting but a low turnout it will further cynicism about politicians who only seek votes from the narrow band of interest groups they cater for instead of developing policies that help all in the country.

I think it will be quite a low turnout anyway.

I don't expect lots of Tory voters to switch, but maybe just not voting
