Tanking slurry vs bitumen emulsion. Damp garage wall.

I have a garage which is built with the walls sitting on the concrete slab, with a DPC at floor level, single skin brick. Parts of the walls are below ground, when it rains water seeps through the DPC. I've dug out and exposed one side and will cut back the DPC as close to the brick joint as possible. The plan was to paint the below ground brick and over the dpc with a bitumen emulsion and back fill. However I am unsure on the longevity of this and whether a tanking slurry would perform better? Pros and cons to both? Which would you go for?

Fit an ACO drain? It looks like the roof water is draining into that gap too?

Yes agreed, the plan was to run a channel down the side. Surface only as its a shared road, the properties are Edwardian so god knows where the drains are, or how deep. Either a precast 150mm or cast my own in situe, haven't decided yet.

I was thinking more a plastic aco, so it wouldn't bridge the DPC? Is there somewhere at the bottom to discharge it to? Or can you divert the roof drain?
