Hi,

I have a combi-boiler. I am maintaining the pressure at 1 bar, however when I turn on the hot taps the pressure goes down quite a bit, when the tap is closed the pressure returns to 1 bar. Is this supposed to happen?

cheers

Is it a Worcester 35CDi?

The pressure gauge is likely to be on the intake side of the pump, and when circulating around the boiler, as in DHW mode, causes a depression that the gaige shows.

Sounds normal therefore

Hi,

The boiler is a SIME. If the pressure goes down, does that mean air is being let in?

No, it means the gauge is measuring the pressure drop on the pump intake side.

If the pressure recovers, no problem.

Worcester 35s do it in a pronounced way.

If the gauge had been on the pump outlet side, you would tend to see a rise in pressure when running.
