Hi, I have just got round to installing my texecom elite even though I have had it for 5 years, I have only wired up one PIR, zone 2 guard and one entry contact zone 1 entry 1 the rest of the zones I have set to not used, everything seemed fine until I try and arm it, it just makes aloud constant noise and the panel comes up with Area in ExiT A. I have tried resetting by pushing the reset button then turning the power on, no joy with that, I have tried setting a charm to each zone to check if they are talking to each other, no joy with that, not sure where to go from here, hoping you guys might be able to help

thanks

paul

You probably have it set to entry exit for setting ….in this mode it’s looking for the entry exit to open and then close to set the system ….set it for timed

Thanks for your swift replys, where do I find this setting I need to change

Just an update, these are the two settings I have set it to but still no joy, one of the settings I wasn’t sure about was the zone wiring I have set them to normally closed, not sure if this has anything to do with it

What panel is it ? Post picture of panel and how you have wired it at both ends…

It’s a Premier elite 24 CAA-0026, apologies for the messy cables I have just wired it up temporarily until I know it works, it’s been sat in the garage for 5 years

For a start ….it should be set for EOL 4.7k/ 2.2k ….looks like your wiring in the shock only as there is nothing in the Reed terminals , in all fairness I’ve not used the texecom shock/ contacts

I have disconnected the door contact and set the PIR as an entry but still no joy, the tamper is working when I took the cover off the PIR it came up with tamper alert on the panel, the only time I got it to arm I was in Eng utilities and it give me an option to arm, not to sure where I was in the Utilities though, it’s so frustrating

You need to check the electrical connection to the alarm control panel before you injure yourself. If wired incorrectly

get a professional in before you kill yourself, there are serious safety risks with your install. Well spotted Handymanjo.

currently your panel is badly wired and your risk serious harm or death if it isn’t addressed properly. Given you think it’s okay I would get someone in to do it correctly and safely and show the installer the images above before they open the panel as the need to down power from mains before opening for their own safety.
