We are having a L shaped loft conversion done with wet, between joist, under floor heating. As we are installing carpets (2.2
combined tog) the UFH supplier warned us about heat loss with regards to warm up time performance.
We have 100mm PIR everywhere, but there are lot of battens and two large steels in the ceiling (plaster rests directly against the steel). All of which will act as cold spots, and the steels potentially a thermal bridge

Decorators come in soon, we don’t know if there is a problem or not with UFH performance, but thinking of erring on the side of caution and asking them to install 4mm thermal Wallrock KV600 on external walls and ceilings - we will finish them with Wallrock Premium. The idea is to try and take the edge off the cold spots.
Does anyone have opinions of whether this will help on those cold areas or not? This is less about cost of more heating, but more about ensuring good response times.
