It won't take you that long to find the missus, surely?I'll go and spend an hour checking for you!

Motivation.You make it sound obvious.
How is it so?
Porn / religion -
Motivation.
The end justifies the means.
Close off normal rational thought.
and get off on it, with the hordes.
(I was gonna say Masses but that could be misleading).
I forget the psych word for the behaviour pattern.
Everythig is out there if you want it.
I'm vaguely aware there was trouble over a website which still exists call motherless. Some saying it was awful and terrible and others saying it was just depictions of life.
Oh yeah - - I just googled "motherless" . Read the summaries it comes up with. It was something in 2016 where the FBI posted a load of kiddiporn for people to subscribe to and get themselves convicted.
The site was taken down but I daresay its mirror persists somewhere.
One I came across while looking at dashcam videos of car crashes was a link to a site called crazysh*t . It did have a load of such things I did prod through, but there was also a "brutal" section. Dipping in there showed things you might want to unsee.
Everything exists on the internet somewhere.
On someone else's free-access computer I found a TOR browser, which I haven't downloaded on my own. If you don't know what the TOR browser network is, and the dark web, google it. On it, at first you find sort-of nothing, then one thing leads to another, to anywhere you want.
Every now again there's something in the news. such as a site which required you to upload a load of nasty pictures of your own before you got access.
The TOR net is a mass of redirections, so your activity on a site is supposedly untraceable back, through too many layers. Each session gets a header from the revious layer which is just another redirection. Like an onion, hence The Onion Router
I met a guy once who worked with the police, digging around the network so they (whoever "they" were I'm not sure) could set up their own redirection hubs to catch traffic. He showed me sites where you could buy a load of credit card details, etc. I thought it must be classified, but apparently everybody who mattered knew so he was showing off without revealing anything much. He'd had a few drinks too.
That was years ago, it will have changed.
One thing which HAS changed is Bitcoin. They used to say it was untraceable yada yada but it's not. It works because the data is in the cloud, so in theory everything is findable. From't TV, if you buy a load of drugs now you will be associated with everything else you ever did with bitcoin so there's a good likelihood that you can be tracked down.
There's a documentary on Bloomberg TV about a guy who was tracked down that way.
Rather like a burner phone. Once you use it, it's burned, but it's so tempting to use it again - and the crims do.
