its blatantly obvious he used excessive force, it would’ve been very hard to reach any other verdict

You or I would need to use Excessive force and training
to be able to pin an aggressive Man of that size down.
 
I think even Derek Chauvin would have eased off if he knew George had a cocktail of drugs that would react to physical activitie.
George Floyd was handcuffed, he was no threat to armed officers.

there was no need to have a knee on his neck

There's a lot of people, all strong right wingers, trying to espouse that police should be a law to themselves.

Restrain the guy by any or all means until under control, and then get him to a court to decide.

But I cannot support police dishing out their own punishments
