Hi,I have a approx. 7 year old Thomson tv,its a old style 32" monster, our problem is that it takes up to 15 mins to come on.I have the instruction booklet but cannot find anything to help. All is fine once it comes on but is annoying first thing in the morning.Any help would be appreciated.
Paul :(

I am sure there is nothing in the instruction you will find to solve this problem. The most likely cause of a tv with this sympton is a electrolytic capacitor in the power supply which has gone faulty either leaking or going low capacitance taking a long period of time to charge to enough of its value to fire an ht line which cycles power supply circuits feeds to the pcb's. It would need specialised fault finding to diagnose the fault not really a diy job.

tockworth,
thank you for a very imformative reply. Will just have to get up 15 mins earlier   .In your opinion is it likely to get worse? Had i better start saving up. :(
Paul

Yes it will probably take longer and longer to startup but over a long period of time however usually it is not advisable to run a tv when faulty but in my experience this type of fault does not come under that category of risk
