tile cement

i have just started taking tiles of in my bathroom to find they have been put on with big dollops of cement aprox 1/2 inch thick straight onto wall tiles come of easy enoght cement does not wearing chisel out. any tips to help me finish this year ???

is there nothing you can get from a hire shop to help ?

Best thing to do is leave them there and tile over them. Old ceramic tiles are considered the best surface to tile on to and you will only loose a quarter of an inch in room size. Just make sure that you wash them well with sugar soap and rinse well.
