Hi,
We have recently bought a new house and unfortunately all the bathrooms/ensuites are carpeted. We want to tile the floors but are unsure about whether to take the toilets and sinks out first. I know that the best results will be achieved if we take everything out and tile the floor (and read all the previous posts) before replacing them but as we have chipboard flooring there is going to be a significant height difference once we take into account the 18mm plywood, tiles and heatmat. It will have to get a plumber to reinstall as there will be considerable adjustments to soil and supply pipes - pretty expensive.
Can a satisfactory result be obtained by carefully tiling around or is it really wort shelling out the £400 plumber costs?
Thanks
